My wife and I were grocery shopping at Hy-Vee when we spotted Amanda, an employee at Hot Topic, who was also out shopping. Melissa and I both absolutely loved Amanda's creative style! And she has a beautiful smile! :)
This is a photo of my wife and I at the wedding of a friend of ours. Normally I like to stay behind the camera, but I really liked our outfits, so I thought I'd post a photo! :)
This is Jessica. She is from Des Moines and was in the area on business. There was a snowstorm approaching and she was hoping to be able to make all her appointments before heading back home. Her fall/winter style is awesome!! great colors!
This couple was enjoying a fun morning at Brewed Awakenings and they were just too much fun for me not to ask for a portrait! They seem like a fun couple and I like their style together.
I was at Brewed Awakenings when this guy walked in. I immediately knew I had to approach him for a photo! I love the coat/scarf/hat combo!
While I was finishing up guest portraits at a friend's wedding, I saw this couple coming from a different event at the same hotel and thought they looked awesome! Such a unique and classic style!
This is a fantastic combo! I like the grey/black color tones and the accessories really make it come alive! Her hair is great too!
I met these two sisters at a wedding where I was doing portraits of the guests. I saw a lot of fun outfits and these two were kind enough to let me capture a photo of their fun style!

This is the amazing and ultra-talented Alisabeth! I had been wanting to meet her and was really glad to have the opporunity to not only meet her but to capture her fun style! I love the pink color accents in her outfit!
On November 12, my family and I celebrated my sister's birthday at the Red Avocado in Iowa City, Iowa. Its an amazing place to eat and the food their is delicious!! That night I met this lady who is one of the servers there and thought her outfit combo was very creative!

fun casual style!
Last day of the convention. As I was leaving the convention center, I saw the cool lady with the awesome arm tattoo again and asked for one more photo. :)
This is such a fun combo! I especially like the top she has on! what a cool design!
I thought this was a fun and unique style!
more fun outfits!
Here is a photo of Patty Young wearing one of her cool patterns! Her designs are inspiring to me as designing outfits is one of my interests. If you haven't already, check out her site: www.modkidboutique.com
It was fun to see someone else carrying around a camera! Her outfit was one of my favorites! This combo is amazing and the colors are awesome! She looks great!
This lady was always in style throughout the Houston Quilt Market! I loved the outfits she put together!

I thought this outfit with the neutral tones was really cool!
These ladies were so much fun to interact with! They had such a colorful display and their outfits were fun and colorful as well! I can't remember the name of their business, but I will try and post a link to their site later.

Here is a photo of Patty Young and her husband who is also dressed up for Halloween! They were really fun to meet! www.modkidboutique.com
This is Patty Young, artist, designer and business owner of ModKid. Her designs are amazing and in this photo she was dressed up for Halloween. Check her out at: www.modkidboutique.com and ModKid is also on Facebook.

the color and pattern on her dress is really cool! and I like how she added the grey cardigan and leggings to go with it. fun boots too!
These ladies were just arriving to the convention center in Houston and I believe they are from Japan. Jackets are such a fun article of clothing to create outfits with and they both show how fun including a jacket into your style can be!
I love the way she put this oufit together! To me, it works for her perfectly and it all blends together well. She looks great! :)
This guy was really fun! And his hat is really cool!! The quilt art in the background is his own art and its awesome!
Her dress is awesome and I love the colors! She is purposefully letting her blue slip show because she is advertising not only fun lace fabric but a creative style as well! She looks great! :)
Her style and personality was so unique and interesting! And her tattoo arm sleave is really cool! She was really fun to meet!
I absolutely love this style! A fun and creative combo! :)

I love how some people take a simple style and make it look awesome! I thought these two ladies did just that!

this is the awesome artist, Stephanie Brandenburg, art director for Camelot Cottons and a great friend to my wife and I. She has really opened the door of opportunity and possibility for my wife and I, (especially my wife) and we are so grateful for her! Her family is awesome too! This is her booth at the Houston Market where my wife, Melissa Marie, had her first three fabric lines released and displayed! Stephanie is wearing an outfit made from my wife's fabric! And this fabric is available for purchase if you would like to create an outfit as well! ;)
These ladies took a moment out of their busy day to allow me to capture a photo of them in their booth. I believe the business they represent is out of California and had a steady flow of business and visitors. I was glad they allowed me to capture their amazing style! :)
This fun group of ladies were out and about visiting booths at the Houston Market and were doing it in style!
I loved this mask that she made and so I had to take a photo of this to post! Her booth had amazing silk products and that's what she used with this mask. :)
This is the owner of the shop I just mentioned in the previous post. She is a wonderful and creative artist and has an amazing style! I love how she paired blue ankle boots with this outfit. When I post the link to her site, please check it out! If you like to sew, you will be inspired!!
I need to find the link to the business she is with, but this was one of my favorite booths at the Houston Market. They have a great vision and I love the products they carry! Her outfit combo is amazing and looks great on her. She has a great personality and was really fun to meet!
We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Houston and there were many events where people came out all dressed up and while I wish I had captured more photos of all the outfits, I am glad I took a moment to create a portrait of this lady. I think she looks great!
In late October, I attended the International Quilt Market in Houston, Texas. My first experience with the quilt industry was earlier this year in St. Paul, Minnesota at the spring market (view the posts from May of 2010 to see photos) and these markets have become events that I absolutely look forward to! At these events there is such a feeling of community and the level of creativity and art is overflowing in abundance! With such creative minds there is definitely bound to be fun outfits! So of course I had to capture some images of those who extended their artistic vision into their wardrobe. I hope you enjoy and are inspired by these great outfits! :)

Also, to those who allowed me to create a portrait of you, thank you!! I look forward to seeing you in Salt Lake City, Utah next year!!

She has such a wonderful personality and is the kind of person who easily puts a smile on your face and makes you feel joyful! She is naturally creative and her artistic ability is expressed well in this outfit!

This is my friend, Layne. He is an incredible guy and has a great fashion style! My wife and I were at Hy-Vee getting some food to make dinner when he came up to say hello. His coat is awesome and the shoes and jeans are perfect with it! Its always great seeing Layne and it was fun to be able to capture his style. That evening, Melissa and I made a delicious pizza and it was a great way to end the day!
I am so glad I was able to do this post because this outfit is incredible! This is Avery, I met her and her mom as we were all exiting Barnes & Noble. I think its great when people not only put together a fashionable outfit but especially when it really suits who they are. Avery put together an outfit that is both an awesome style and that is perfect for her! She is a local student in the community and it was really cool seeing her hanging out with her mom! I like seeing parents and their teenage or adult kids hanging out together! :)

Here is my lovely wife, Melissa! :) I really enjoyed this outfit she wore on this beautiful fall evening! Black, white and red can be an amazing combo and she proved that well in this outfit. I especially like how the zebra stripes outlining her red sweater match her zebra stripes boots (which she painted herself!) The fabric she is holding are her own designs which are making a huge splash in the quilt and fabric world! I'm so proud of her! :)

This is my friend, Paige. She is the daughter of an amazing local artist named Stephanie and the sister of Nichole, from the previous post. As my wife, Melissa and I were at their house that afternoon, Paige came outside where Stephanie, Melissa and I were enjoying conversation and a glass of wine and I couldn't help but make a portrait of her. :) I love her hat and her sweatshirt is really cool and the color is great! Paige is a lot of fun and was also making preparations for homecoming weekend.

Meet my friend, Nichole! She is such a fun person and in this photo she was trying out the dress and shoes she had picked out for homecoming. She looks awesome and I love the color of her dress against the blue, late afternoon sky! Nichole is the daughter of Stephanie, an amazing local artist and good friend to my wife and I and we were at her house looking at new fabric my wife designed that had just arrived! It was a fun day! :)
I was at the Edgewood Road Hy-Vee grocery store when I met this fashionable lady. The timing worked out perfect for me to ask her if I could make a portrait. This is one of those outfits that, to me, just works perfectly! She was really fun to meet and is a student at Kirkwood and learning to speak Japenese fluently! I wish I would've asked her to say something in Japanese! That would be a fun language to learn, but I need to master spanish first! ;)

This Coe College student, sporting a fun fall fashion style, was outside of Brewed Awakenings Coffeehouse and was getting ready to cross the street with a friend of hers to go back to the Coe College campus. It was such a beautiful day outside and it I love the coffeeshop/college campus/sunny fall morning feel!
